Genesis of The Flame Centre
The Flame Centre started with a dream and a few friends came together to realise it. This dream is to create an environment where individuals discover their gifts and grow into their best possibility. In being so, collectively we play a role in creating a community that is characterised by love, generosity and contribution. We believe this dream contributes to the evolution of Singapore. The social contract is being renegotiated from patriarchy to partnership; from one where people are taken care of to one where people are their own protectors and create their own destiny.

This shift requires individuals to move beyond the comfort zone of being taken care to self-sufficiency. It is the process of developing one’s leadership and capacity. This requires individuals to express their own individuality and creativity. This also means taking accountability for one’s life and having the courage to live into our best possibilities. Intertwined in this process is the capacity to deal with anxiety and failure productively.

Individuals live within a larger community. A community inspires one to care beyond oneself to the whole. This enables individuals to support one another and create a more caring and emotionally connected society. Connected communities and developed individuals are mutually reinforcing.

Hence the purpose in creating The Flame Centre is to develop individuals and connect communities that care for the whole. This means releasing possibilities, evoking creativity, inspiring courage and accountability in individuals, organizations and communities.
